08:00 – 16:00, Ogwen valley, Bethesda, LL57
A challenging walk through a rocky, rugged landscape with iconic views.

Join me on this exciting and challenging walk in the Glyderau mountain range of Eryri (Snowdonia). The route will take us around Llyn Idwal, ascending the back wall of the cwm via the ‘Devil’s Kitchen’ footpath, and then east across the Glyderau ridge to summit both Glyder Fawr and Glyder Fach. We will visit the ‘cantilever stone’ and pass by the mighty Tryfan. The route is all a well-trodden walking route, but much less busier than its neighbouring Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), hence it’s one of my favourites! Although there is a small amount of clambering over some large boulders, this is not a graded scramble, and exposure is easily avoided. The scenery is rugged, panoramic and really is some of the best that the UK has. Ideal for walkers with a good level of fitness.
Parking is very limited at the Ogwen Centre, hence the start time is early. Consider arriving early, lift sharing and / or using public transport – see Ogwen | Eryri National Park for all information on access to the valley, parking and public transport.
